History & Vision

of Bayon Restaurant

Founded December 12, 2009

Bayon Restaurant was founded on December 12, 2009, under the original name "Tara Veal Sbov." It was established by a young newlywed couple — Mr. Ben Rathanak and Mrs. The Dalen — who started their business with a small noodle shop and only five employees.

With valuable family teachings inherited from their parents and ancestors, together with their dedication to self-development in both humanities and sciences — especially their expertise in creating rich flavors and high-quality soup for minced pork noodles — the restaurant gradually attracted customers of all ages and continued to grow steadily.

In 2014, "Tara Veal Sbov" was officially renamed "Bayon Restaurant," reflecting the founders' values of honesty, perseverance, gratitude, and respect toward Khmer ancestors, parents, and all Cambodian customers. The restaurant was founded with the vision of preserving Khmer culinary culture and promoting authentic Cambodian cuisine to international guests.

The Beginning

Founded on December 12, 2009 as "Tara Veal Sbov" — a small noodle shop with just 5 employees and a dream.

2014

Reborn as Bayon

Officially renamed "Bayon Restaurant," embodying honesty, perseverance, and deep respect for Khmer culinary heritage.

2019

Franchise Launch

Began developing standardized franchise partnerships, opening opportunities for business collaboration across Cambodia.

2024

Despite the COVID-19 challenges of 2020–2021, customer support remained unwavering — growing to 8+ branches nationwide.
